The Lewisville office of Novant Health Psychiatric Medicine specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of thinking, feeling and behavior that affect children as young as five years old and young adults. Our providers understand how mental health concerns can impact a child's well-being, and social and physical development. We work to get your child needed treatment as quickly as possible and to involve family members in treatment when necessary.
After receiving a referral from your child's primary care physician, we will schedule your child's initial evaluation. Medication management is handled in our office, while you might receive a referral for behavior modification therapy or other therapeutic help outside of our office.
Psychiatric conditions we regularly diagnose and treat in children include:
- Oppositional defiant disorder.
- Attention deficit disorder.
- Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
- Suicidal tendencies.
